Here We Go A-Wassailing!

Wassail
1 64 oz bottle of 100% Cranberry Juice
1 Gallon of Apple Cider
3 -4 cups (how much depends on personal taste) high –quality orange juice
6 sticks of cinnamon
6 whole cloves
You may also add powdered – cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, cloves etc to adjust to personal preference.
Optional – 1 sliced navel orange – leave orange peel on.
Optional - if you prefer it spiked, the alcohol would be Spiced Rum, or Spiced Brandy.

Combine cranberry Juice, ½ gallon apple cider, orange juice and spices in large pot, uncovered.  (Allows the flavors to concentrate)
Bring to boil, once boiling turn down to a simmer.
If using the orange slices add now. Simmer for at least 2 hours, stirring occasionally; if too much has evaporated supplement with the remaining ½ gallon of apple cider.
You may simmer all day, however after 2 hours cover to stop the wassail from completely evaporating.
Or transfer to a crock pot, to keep hot for long periods of time.
Storage – Let the wassail cool to room temperature, using a kitchen funnel, poor the wassail from the pot into the empty cranberry and apple cider bottles. Put the cinnamon sticks and whole cloves in the bottles as well. Refrigerate.

WELCOME to the CORNER!

Hello All!
I have finally decided to join the blogging world! I used to blog on xanga in college, but really loved what "Blogger" had to offer as far as design, easy to use and nice templates. I love reading other blogs powered by "Blogger" about other homes and life stories. I was interested in what many blogs had to offer as far as advice, recipes and life in a christian home. I have always considered myself a creative person and decided I wanted to share with friends, family or whomever decides to stumble across my blog; the daily struggles, triumphs and adventures in my home, as well as my creative touch in our home.

My husband of 2 years, David and I live in South Charleston, West Virginia after the hard economy forced us to move to where we had a job. That would be David's, he works for the state of West Virginia. I work a company that hires Engineers for contract work. We currently rent a small house in South Charleston, West Virginia with our red Golden Retiever, Autumn and black and white long haired cat Mayberry and the newest addition to our family, Wassail a "Ragdoll" cat she is sooooo pretty soon, I want her to put on a little weight before i post! We are looking to move, (will keep you all posted as time goes on) I hope to blog through that process.

I hope that you will find our stories/blogs fun, educational and inspirational! I love to try new things and this is definitely something new for me, I hope to stick with iblogging and I hope you will come along for the ride,  buckle your seat belts I can't promise it won't be bumpy but it will at least be somewhat entertaining! Thanks for joining and of course WELCOME to Conner's Corner!
